POINTING OUT THINGS IN JAPANESE

KORE- it is a pronoun used to refer to a thing or things near the speaker. It means this in English.

SORE-it is pronounced used to refer to a thing or things near the person spoken to. It means that in English.

ARE- it is a pronoun used to refer to a thing or things at a distance from both the speaker and the person spoken to. It means that over there in English.

KA- it is the equivalent of the question mark in English. It is always placed at the end of an interrogative sentence.

NAN- it is the euphonic change of “NANI” (which means “what”) when placed before a word that begins with t,d,or n.

EXAMPLE:
  1. NAN DESU KA? –WHAT IS IT?
  2. NAN TO IIMASHITA KA? - WHAT DID YOU SAY?
  3. NAN NO SENSEI DESU KA?-YOU ARE A TEACHER?
